Job Objective

Manages OEM / Defense sales activities of the organization.  Plans and implements sales, forecasting, production growth, and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred with a minimum of 8 years related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities preferred.  Other education and experience may be considered. 
  2. Military Service and industry knowledge preferred.
  3. Demonstrated in-depth sales and marketing techniques and financial principles.
  4. Demonstrated success in building a sale model with forecasting, tracking, ERP implementation, and customer service.
  5. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of market and competition and alignment of sales with strategic goals.
  7. Ability to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives and provide vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.
  8. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.  Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

Job Duties

  1. Develop pricing strategy to optimize market share and profitability.
  2. Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  3. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  4. Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  5. Responsible for customer service requirements and implementation.
  6. Directs product matrix and tracking.
  7. Directs staffing and training to develop and control sales programs.
  8. Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  9. Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  10. Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
  11. Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
  12. Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
  13. Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  14. Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  15. Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  16. Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  17. Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
  18. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  19. Directs product research and participates in product development and implementation.
  20. Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

This position requires the flexibility to travel as needed (customer sites, trade shows/sales events, etc.) in accordance with Proof travel policy.
