Job Objective
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Supervises a team of quality technicians/inspectors.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree and 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Project management experience from idea generation to construction and start-up for projects from $500K to $150MM+ preferred.
3. Experience synthesizing complex or diverse information and experience with ISO requirements and Lean Manufacturing preferred.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop project plans, coordinate projects, and communicate changes and progress.
5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures while developing a strategy to achieve organizational goals.
6. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
7. Proven ability to communicate effectively with managers, vendors, customers, and employees while working well in a group problem solving situations.
Job Duties
1. Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
2. Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
3. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
4. Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
5. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
6. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
7. Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
8. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
9. Schedule and lead audits for AS 9100 / ISO 9001 QMS (internal, external, & customer)
10. Coordinate/Manage Root Cause & Corrective Action programs within the company.
11. Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
12. Coordinate & Participate in Risk Management activities
13. Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
14. Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, production gauging, critical suppliers, and outgoing products.
15. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
16. Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
17. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
18. Works with other groups in the organization to improve quality and lean process.
Schedule
Generally, the schedule is Monday-Friday during the day; however, certain events may require flexibility to ensure no disruption in services is experienced. Minimal travel may be required.
Work Environment
Primarily works indoors in an office/manufacturing plant setting. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job; however, these may not be all inclusive.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in the office setting and moderate in the manufacturing setting.
