Summary

As a Production Planner at PROOF Research, you will play a vital role in optimizing our production processes to ensure timely delivery of our cutting-edge products. This position is essential to our mission of delivering high-quality, innovative firearm solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Job Objective

Responsible for overseeing and organizing the manufacturing processes to ensure timely production of goods by developing and managing production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, allocating resources, and collaborating with various departments to meet production goals and customer demands, all while staying within budget and quality standards. Plan and coordinate all aspects of the production workflow to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.

Job Duties:

1.   Create, implement, and maintain a master production schedule for the manufacturing process.

2.   Utilize / improving systems for production planning software, ERP systems and other tools to manage production schedules, inventory levels, and generate reports.

3.   Coordinate production workflow for multiple products and product lines and sites

4.   Work with production and operations management to set priorities and manage conflicts

5.   Resolve scheduling conflicts and handle unforeseen delays

6.   Forecasting and managing within a budget related specifically to production scheduling.

7.   Ensuring that all the processes and schedules are followed judiciously and in a particular order so as to attain efficiency and to also make sure that products meets or surpasses required standards

     a. Coordinating with all departments to understand their scheduling needs and requirements.

     b. Monitor material inventories, track progress of production, and review factors which affect schedules

8.   Maintain reporting systems to make sure that all forms of documentation are accurate and timely.

     a. Communicating with management and stakeholders about the status of production schedules

     b. Creating detailed reports on production plans, progress, and any changes to the schedule

     c. Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget ensuring that outputs are recorded appropriately in the correct system.

9.   Analyzing production specifications and plant capacity data, and performing mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements

     a. Determine manpower, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand

     b. Identifying issues that could potentially impact schedule adherence and order fulfillment

     c. Work closely with supplier management / vendors so as to make sure that the company’s supply needs are adequately met in a timely manner

     d. Rectify and/or reconcile differences and inaccuracies that have to do with shipment and deliveries to customers

10.   Identifying and implementing process improvements to improve scheduling efficiency

11.   Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Qualifications

1.   Associate's degree or equivalent and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in production planning and scheduling in a job shop environment required.

2.   Experience with manufacturing inventory management processes.

3.   Demonstrated ability to implement and utilize manufacturing, purchasing, and production scheduling software.

4.   High level of competency in ERP/MRP software (implementation and operation) and Microsoft Office programs required.

5.   Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with vendors, staff, and managers of PROOF.

6.   Ability to analyze data effectively and make informed decisions based on findings.

Schedule

Generally, the schedule is Monday-Friday during the day; however, certain events may require flexibility to ensure no disruption in services are experienced.

Work Environment

Primarily works indoors in an office/manufacturing plant setting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
